Fantastic Victoriana is a very thorough site that provides a a good introduction to its subject matter.
The Victorian era is interesting to read about in itself, but the literature was even more so. Add the literature of the fantastic to the mix, and there are a lot of quirky characters.
This website is extensive; there are references to Hajji Babba, Alice, the Grey-Faced Man, Arsene Lupin, and many, many more. Many of these I haven’t heard of, but I now want to go get the books and read about them.
