What Book Got You Hooked On Reading?

What Book Got You Hooked On Reading?: there’s a list here of books that were the most effective at getting young people reading. Anne of Green Gables makes the list, as do Nancy Drew books and Goodnight, Moon.

I don’t think any particular book got me hooked–I can’t remember a time when I wasn’t reading.

Interesting list of children’s books, but it seems to be dated. My current students, and own child, are hooked on Junie B. Jones, Magic Treehouse, and, or course, Harry Potter.

I dont think I can narrow it down to just one book that got me hooked on reading. But when I was really little my mom used to read to me from the golden book collection. When I got a little older I read sweet valley kids and r.l stine and christopher pike. I do believe I managed to read most of the series before i out grew them.
