Signing Off, Probably Permanently

I’ve had a wonderful time posting entries here for the last 1 ½ years. Now I’m turning my attention to other projects–although, on the principle of “Never say never,” I won’t rule out returning at some point.

I’ll leave both blogs up so that you can look at the archives, and I’ll be posting new links periodically on the links section of my website. Please drop by there from time to time, and always feel free to send me a message.

Definitely check out the great blogs listed in the right-hand sidebars of this blog and my other blog (Books, Words, and Writing).

On Holidays

I’m going to take a bit of a break from blogging for the next couple of weeks. I’ll have plenty to do, though–I’ll be going to the beautiful St. Peter’s Abbey to take part in the much beloved Writers/Artists Colony co-sponsored by the Saskatchewan Writers Guild and CARFAC.

After that I intend to sit down and do nothing but read Harry Potter until I finish it, and then I’m going to do some serious relaxing.

So I hope you all have a lovely couple of weeks!

Amy On The Web Is One Year Old

One year ago today I started blogging! It’s been a fun year.

I’ve read several places that most blogs don’t last past the 3 month period, and I have to admit that I wondered myself if I would persevere or if the blog would go the way of various New Year’s resolutions.

But here I am, still going strong, and still enjoying it. I’ve learned a lot about blogging and blogging software (I really prefer WordPress to Blogger).

I’ve gotten a more clear idea of my own interests, too. If anyone had asked me last year this time what I would blog about, I would have said history, cooking, animals, literature.

I certainly do blog about literature—so much so that I started another blog about it. But I’m surprised to find that I don’t blog about the others as much as I would have thought (considering how much a part of my life they are).

Instead, I’m way more interested in science and nature, SF television shows, and music than I had realised.

And, of course, I love silly quizzes. So here’s one to celebrate the blog’s anniversary.

Up And Running Again

Happy New Year, everyone!

After a few tech struggles (caused entirely by some slow thinking on my part) I’ve moved to a new host (pair Networks) and am looking forward to blogging in the new year.

I hope you all had a great holiday season and that 2007 is your best year ever.
